It's not common but, upon installation, you may have encountered a Windows Installer error stating:
"This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package."
Before anything, you want to make sure your version of Windows is compatible with the PDF2XL version you are trying to install.

You will also want to make sure you are using administration mode and that your firewall is not affecting the installation.
If your install file is on a network drive, you should copy it over to a local drive before attempting to install.
In most cases, this occurs because the install file has been corrupted. This can happen if you are sharing the installer between computers (for example, using a Dropbox folder), or sometimes an issue during the download of the file causes the problem.
