One of the more difficult issues many PDF to Excel converters face is the ability to convert into Arabic.
Our latest releases (v6.5 and later) have this capability, but there are still some roadblocks that need to be dealt with. (Note: Version 7.0 and later require Advanced OCR only available with the Enterprise plan)
First of all, it's important to understand that not all Arabic documents will successfully convert, as scan quality and text embedding are still a major factor in the OCR's ability to recognize the characters. We are, however, continuously working to improve recognition and accuracy.
Another problem is when you have a document containing more than one language. Choosing the Arabic language will help recognize the characters in that language, but can affect the characters in another language.
When you open your document, be sure to go to the Options menu and select the Arabic language from the OCR Language dropdown. If it isn't listed, use the "Add Languages" button to install it.
It is also recommended to set the "Despeckle" option to Do not apply.
