If you have a scanned PDF document in a language other than English, you can force the OCR to recognize that language's special characters by selecting the OCR language.

After you open your document, click on the "OCR Language" button in the toolbar:

Place a checkmark in the box for the language your document contains and click "OK".

Now you can proceed with the conversion by clicking the "Convert OCR" button in the toolbar.
